Imagine waking up on Thanksgiving weekend to the sun rising over Thunder Bay’s waterfront, with an entire weekend of fall experiences waiting just outside your door.
Make the waterfront your home for the weekend
Your getaway begins with check-in at Delta Hotels Thunder Bay, where you can settle in, unwind, and make yourself at home. Explore the hotel’s accommodation options and choose the room that suits your fall escape.
The next morning, start the day slowly with breakfast at Anchor & Ore. Enjoy your morning coffee and breakfast as the waterfront welcomes a new autumn day.
A Saturday of adventure and candlelight
Put the finishing touches on your costume and head to the Thunder Bay Medieval Faire at Hymers Fairgrounds. Spend the day enjoying the festivities, entertainment, and medieval atmosphere before returning to the hotel to relax and refresh.
The faire runs Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 47 Hymers Fair Drive, Gillies. Expect full-contact jousting by the Knights of Valour, falconry demonstrations, warhorse rides, live music, and an artisan marketplace. Check the ticket page for current admission prices and availability.
As night falls, trade medieval adventure for the glow of candlelight. Candlelight: Queen vs. ABBA brings a string quartet tribute to St. Paul’s United Church, 349 Waverley Street, on Saturday, October 10 at 8:30 p.m. The performance lasts approximately 60 minutes; doors open 45 minutes before the show. Check Fever for current ticket prices and availability.
After the final notes fade, return to the comfort of Delta Thunder Bay for a well-deserved night’s rest.
Sunday: a little harvest-season magic
Continue your fall escape with a visit to Belluz Farms’ Fall Wonderland. Take in the colours, flavours, and charm of the harvest season: pick out locally grown pumpkins, explore the corn maze, and browse fall vegetables and preserves in the farm store.
Belluz Farms is located at 752 Candy Mountain Drive, Slate River. Fall Wonderland is open Saturday, Sunday, and Thanksgiving Monday, October 12, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Purchase activity passes online before your visit and check the farm’s current details.
Let us take care of Thanksgiving dinner
Return to Anchor & Ore and gather around the table for our Thanksgiving special dinner, offered Saturday, Sunday, and Monday evening, October 10–12. Slow down, share a delicious meal, and celebrate without worrying about the cooking or cleanup.
