During the week leading up to September 30, our team at Delta Hotels Thunder Bay came together to honour the children who never returned home, as well as the Survivors of the residential school system, their families, and their communities.
The activities throughout the week, and the Truth and Reconciliation event at the Spirit Garden on September 30, offered opportunities to listen, learn, and reflect together.
Team Delta wore orange shirts in recognition of Orange Shirt Day. Megh, our Sales Executive, participated in a sage smudging ceremony. These moments formed part of a meaningful week of acknowledgement and reflection for our team.
Our team walked from Delta Hotels to the Spirit Garden as an opportunity to acknowledge and honour the experiences of Survivors, their families, and their communities, and to learn about the residential school system.
At the event, our Sales team set up a hot chocolate station to offer warm beverages to members of the Indigenous community gathered at the Spirit Garden.
It was a meaningful opportunity for our team to listen, learn, reflect, and stand together in the spirit of reconciliation.
Our commitment continues through respect, meaningful engagement, and ongoing learning as we work to build stronger relationships with Indigenous Peoples.
